The state corporation “Rostec” has begun supplying the Russian army with the latest remote mining engineering system (ISDM) “Agriculture”, which sets minefields using programmable ammunition. This was announced on Thursday, December 24, at the press service of the state corporation.
Mine intentions: “Agriculture” is tested and goes into service A unique engineering system of remote mining will appear in the troops next year
“The principle of operation of the ISDM is similar to the MLRS, however, for mining, ammunition with a solid fuel engine, stuffed with various types of mines, is used. The technique allows registering the coordinates of their fall on an electronic map and transmitting the data to the higher level of control, “Rostec explained.
Bekkhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec weapons complex, added that the remote method of installing minefields has a number of advantages. One of them is the speed of setting minefields, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
At the same time, the ability of mines to deactivate or self-destruct at a given time ensures safe and quick demining after the end of the fighting, Ozdoev noted.
It is specified that the engineering system includes a combat vehicle on a cross-country chassis, a transport-loading vehicle and transport-launch containers with engineering ammunition, equipped with mines of various types. The system allows you to quickly solve the tasks of mining in compliance with international agreements on the prohibition or restriction of the use of mines, booby traps and other devices.
The development and production of the combat vehicle was carried out by NPO “Splav” them. A.N. Ganicheva (part of Rostec).
For the first time, the “Agriculture” system was presented at the Victory Parade – 2020.
On December 7, it became known that serial deliveries of the latest T-14 “Armata” tank to the Russian Armed Forces will begin in 2021.
