The aerospace forces of Russia in 2021 will re-equip the first regiment with the S-350 Vityaz anti-aircraft missile systems, and will also receive two new regimental sets of S-400 air defense systems and complexes. This was reported on January 9 by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.

“In 2021, the Aerospace Forces plans to enter service with two regimental sets of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system and 18 Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile cannon systems. In addition, it is planned to re-equip the first anti-aircraft missile regiment with the newest anti-aircraft missile system S-350 “Vityaz”, – the message says.
The S-350 complexes are designed to protect the most important objects and groupings of troops from strikes of modern and advanced air attack weapons. The S-350 was developed by the Almaz-Antey concern. The radius of their destruction is 60 km. Earlier, the RF Ministry of Defense noted that the use of these systems would increase the effectiveness of repelling massive cruise missile attacks by four times.
On March 6, military expert Viktor Murakhovsky called the Knights killers of American Tomahawk missiles and European Storm Shadow. According to him, by combining the Prometheus, Vityaz, Pantsir and other air defense systems into a single network, Russia will receive a virtually impenetrable umbrella.
