A military-patriotic action timed to coincide with the Day of the Tanker took place in Yekaterinburg on Saturday, September 12. The festive event was attended by about 30 thousand people, according to the press service of the Central Military District.
During the demonstration of combat capabilities, the audience was shown the most complex element – the synchronous “flight” of 40-ton T-72B3M tanks. The crews dispersed the armored vehicles, made a jump with a simultaneous volley in the air.
In addition, a promising T-14 Armata tank was demonstrated in Yekaterinburg.
The capabilities of the novelty were also appreciated by the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin. In addition, visitors could see the SU-100 and T-44 self-propelled tank destroyer, the BTR-40 light armored personnel carrier, the BA-10 and BA-64 armored vehicles, and the PT-76 amphibious tank.
The day before, it was reported that soldiers of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District fired Soviet T-34s on the eve of Tanker Day.
