Russian TU-22M3 flew over the neutral waters of the Black Sea


Two Tu-22M3 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces flew over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry informs on September 16.

“Two long-range Tu-22m3 bombers of the Aerospace Forces performed a planned flight in airspace over the neutral waters of the Black Sea. During the flight, the aircraft crews covered about 4,500 km and were in the air for more than five hours, ”the military department said in a statement.

It is noted that at certain stages of the route, long-range aviation aircraft accompanied the Su-27 of the Russian Aerospace Forces, as well as fighters from foreign countries.

Long-range aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black and Baltic Seas, and the Pacific Ocean. All flights of aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace, the Defense Ministry added.

On September 14, during a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the Norwegian and Barents Seas, F-16 fighters of the Norwegian Air Force escorted Russian Tu-160 missile carriers. The duration of his flight was 10 hours.

On the same day, the Russian National Defense Control Center announced the interception of three US Air Force B-52 strategic bombers in the skies over the Black Sea. American planes were approaching the state border of the Russian Federation from the Ukrainian side. Two Su-27s and two Su-30s flew to intercept.
