Russian servicemen of the 201st military base in Tajikistan, together with the Yunarmeys, congratulated the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and military service on the New Year.
The servicemen handed over gifts and food packages to the veterans, and also presented New Year’s cards with congratulations from the command and all personnel of the military base.
The children, in turn, prepared musical congratulations for the veterans, performing the melodies of Soviet composers.
Veterans and their families warmly welcomed the guests and invited them to the table. Over a cup of tea, the front-line soldiers talked about their service and life during the Great Patriotic War and after it.
The 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is the largest Russian military facility outside the country. The base is located in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance units, air defense units, RCB protection and communications.
Earlier on December 31, it was reported that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu congratulated veterans and servicemen on the New Year.
