Unique military units – special engineering and airfield battalions – will be able to deploy airfields of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) in an open field. The issue of creating such units is currently being worked out.

The first separate airfield engineering battalion was deployed on the basis of the State Flight Test Center. In August, he took part in maneuvers in the Southern Military District, building a field unpaved airfield, which was the first of its kind.
The aerodrome engineering units of the Aerospace Forces are equipped with everything necessary. They can equip a full-fledged air base right in the field: moisten and roll soil for the runway, equip parking lots, deploy fuel storage tanks and equipment for servicing aircraft and helicopters.
Temporary airfields accept any helicopters and various types of aircraft.
