In 2021, the military of Russia and Belarus have planned a record number of exercises. Basically, they will be held in August-September, sources told Izvestia in the Ministry of Defense. Combined training will be sapper units, logistics agencies, military police and commandant units of the two states.
According to sources, these exercises will be among the most massive in recent years. From the Russian Armed Forces, they will mainly involve the troops of the Western Military District.
The main task of the training is to prepare the army units of the two countries for this year’s largest maneuvers “West-2021”, which will be held at the training grounds in Russia and Belarus from September 10 to 16.
As Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in December last year, these exercises will become “the most important event for practicing the practical actions of the troops” and will be aimed at further strengthening the security of the Union State.
