Unmanned ground systems “Uran-14” will go to all Russian engineering units to fight fires, sources in the military department told Izvestia.
Uran-14 is designed to fight fire in high temperature areas and other harsh conditions dangerous to humans. It can extinguish a fire with a foam jet at a distance of at least 25 m, and a water jet at a distance of at least 50 m. It also has a water fire pump with a capacity of 2 thousand liters per minute. The equipment can be controlled remotely.
In addition to eliminating emergencies, robots will also be used to solve combat missions. They must ensure the fastest possible advance of troops.
The first prototypes were tested by sappers from the Western Military District; later, several vehicles were received by the military from the Southern Military District and the Air Defense Forces. Based on the results of testing in different conditions, it was decided to deploy similar units in the engineering troops throughout Russia.
