Azerbaijan will not take part in the Russian military exercises “Caucasus-2020”. This was reported on September 6 by the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

“It is planned to send two servicemen to the above exercises as observers,” RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier, on August 30, India refused to participate in the exercises. The country’s defense ministry noted that India and Russia are close and privileged strategic partners. The Indian side takes part in many international events at the invitation of Moscow, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic and the difficulties associated with it, Delhi decided not to send a contingent to Caucasus 2020.
The Kavkaz-2020 command post exercise will take place in September. According to the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, this event will become the most important stage in the training of the Russian army.
So, within the framework of the event, more than 4.8 thousand exercises of various scales are planned. In addition, the program includes over 9 thousand practical combat training events. The main emphasis will be placed on the introduction of the experience of modern warfare and stimulating commanders to take a non-standard approach to solving problems.
