The Alley of “Russian Glory” in memory of the pilots – Heroes of the Soviet Union was opened on the territory of a separate mixed transport aviation regiment of the Central Military District (CVO) in Yekaterinburg. This was reported by the press service of the Central Military District on Sunday, January 3.
It is noted that within the framework of the ceremony, the grand opening of the busts of three times Hero of the Soviet Union, Air Marshal Ivan Kozhedub, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General of Aviation Georgy Rechkalov and the discoverer of the era of jet aircraft, outstanding test pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union Georgy Bakhchivanzhi took place.
The press service also announced plans: every year the alley will be replenished with busts of other aviation heroes. The ceremony was attended by representatives of veteran organizations, the command of the army of the air force and air defense of the Central Military District.
At the end of October 2020, on the eve of the Day of the employee of the internal affairs bodies, the “Walk of Fame” appeared on the streets of St. Petersburg.
The authorities placed banners on the streets of the city with portraits of six historical figures who contributed to the creation and development of the police in the country, and portraits of 23 active police officers who showed courage and courage in the service.
